Setup Process

1. Complete the CareSimple/athenahealth authorization form
2. Provide your practice id and department id
3. CareSimple sets up the integration
4. Testing in production
5. Go-live

Testing/Workflow

Patient Creation

1. Create/sign an order for "remote care management referral"
2. Login to CareSimple
3. Validate that the patient has been created

Vitals Syncing

1. Log vitals using a CareSimple 4G device
2. Validate that the reading appears in the Clinicals>Charts>Vitals section in athenahealth

Report

1. Generate a patient summary report in CareSimple
2. Validate that the report appears in Clinicals>Charts>Find section in athenahealth

Notes

• Patient demographic information is captured on the order creation, and does not update afterwards
• Legacy patients can be connected by CareSimple's support team as long as MRN and date of birth (DOB) are matching, and that the "remote care management referral" order must be created and signed prior for all patients
• Glucose does not sync (since it is not a supported vital by athenahealth)
• The reports from CareSimple can be automatically marked as closed in athenahealth. Ask for this option if this is a desired behavior. Otherwise documents will be open.
