athenahealth: Linking a Patient that Already Exists in CareSimple
CareSimple directly integrates athenahealth to automate patient creation, vitals syncing and report uploading. Patients that have been created directly from CareSimple can still be linked to athenahealth, but it requires careful maneuvering:
- Make sure that the patient's email address in CareSimple is the same as the one in athenahealth
- Make sure that the patient's MRN in CareSimple is the same as the one in athenahealth
- Order a remote care management referral in athenahealth, and log back in CareSimple, as described in https://help.caresimple.com/article/196-clinicians-creating-a-patient-from-athenahealth
NB: if the CareSimple patient has a different email and MRN, a duplicate patient will be created from the remote care management referral.
